Frequently asked questions
The details, made clear.
Learn how trials, plans, document access, Couples privacy, and Wix-hosted payments work before you create an account.
Getting started What is Everlyst?
Everlyst is a self-serve document-preparation platform for Alberta estate planning. It helps members organize information for a Last Will and Testament, Personal Directive, and Enduring Power of Attorney through guided online builders.
Getting started Is Everlyst a law firm?
No. Everlyst is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The platform is designed for self-serve document preparation. A qualified Alberta lawyer can advise you about your individual circumstances, legal options, and whether a document is appropriate for you.
Trial and plans What is included in the seven-day trial?
The trial begins when your member account is created and gives you access to the Will builder for seven days. No credit card is required. You can save and review your draft, but printing, downloading, and document export remain unavailable until you purchase an eligible plan.
Trial and plans Are the plans subscriptions?
No. Essential, Complete, and Couples are one-time purchases. Wix may categorize one-time unlimited plan orders with subscription records in its dashboard, but there is no recurring plan charge.
Trial and plans How do upgrades work?
Everlyst credits the full value of the plan you already own. At current prices, Essential to Complete is $70 CAD, Essential to Couples is $150 CAD, and Complete to Couples is $80 CAD. Your account shows only the upgrade that is valid for your current access.
Documents Which documents can I prepare?
Essential includes the Last Will and Testament builder. Complete and Couples include the Will, Personal Directive, and Enduring Power of Attorney builders. Your paid access level determines which documents you can export.
Documents Can I save my work and come back later?
Yes. The builders are designed around saved drafts, autosave, section progress, and resume-later access. You can revisit answers and review a draft before requesting an export.
Couples How does the Couples plan protect our privacy?
The purchaser invites one partner. Each person uses a separate member account and owns their own document drafts. A partner does not see the purchaser’s billing details, order information, or documents, and the purchaser does not automatically see the partner’s documents.
Security and payments Does Everlyst store my credit card number?
No. Wix-hosted checkout and a Wix-supported payment provider handle card collection and payment processing. Everlyst uses the resulting Wix order to activate the appropriate access level.
Security and payments What happens if access is not active immediately after payment?
Payment completion does not grant access from the browser. Everlyst verifies the member’s authoritative Wix plan order and reconciles access on the server. The checkout-complete screen can show an activation state while this verification finishes.
Accounts Can I create a second free trial with another account?
The trial is limited to one use per normalized email. Everlyst may retain a protected email fingerprint and basic trial-history dates after account deletion to prevent repeat trials without retaining the raw email solely for that purpose.
Support What should I do if my situation is complex?
Pause before relying on a self-serve document. Circumstances involving blended families, dependent adults, business succession, property outside Alberta, trusts, tax planning, capacity concerns, or disputes may benefit from advice from a qualified lawyer and other professional advisers.
